Week of April 20th-24th

Welcome back! I hope you all had a fun Spring Break!

Now that we're back to school, we have final preparations to make before taking the Iowa test. You all are going to do well...just remember to concentrate and take your time! Relax...you'll do well! I believe in YOU!!!

Since only two people were able to vote on their favorite type of animal, I am extending the deadline by one day. Poll closes TODAY--WEDNESDAY--at 3:00 p.m. Please make sure you vote! :D

Here's what we have going on this week:

MATH:

  • 8-minute addition & subtraction drills for review
  • Word problems--choose the correct operation (+, -, x, /) to solve problems
  • Practice math concept skills

READING:

  • Make predictions and read Chocolate Fever by Robert Kimmel Smith
  • Read story to check predictions
  • Discuss setting, characters, and plot
  • Answer comprehension questions
  • CHOCOLATE CELEBRATION Friday! Yummmm!

FOR FUN...All Things Chocolate :D

LANGUAGE:

  • Take practice math, reading, and language ITBS tests
  • Review results
  • ASK QUESTIONS about things you do not understand!

SCIENCE:

  • Define environment and habitat
  • ID an animal's habitat as either land or water
  • ID desert, rainforest, and polar regions

FYI:

  • Iowa Test...NEXT WEEK--April 27-29
  • If you can donate...I would appreciate donations of stickers, blow-pops, extra snacks, etc., for our class during testing.
